Kathy and her husband founded Cirrus Aviation in 1992 to service large
aircraft engines. After a long battle with cancer, her husband passed
away. Shortly after, the terrible events of September 11, 2001 would
literally send Cirrus Aviation into a tailspin as the aviation industry
took a blow as an aftermath to the event. Kathy had to reconfigure her
business to meet the new market post 9/11 in the small engine division. In
2004 she became a Certified Woman Owned Business, opened a new division in
Arizona and became FAA certified to service Hawker Batteries. She is
pursuing ISO certification.
She has also made time to serve her community as a Baby Holder in the
Newborn Intensive Care unit at Hackensack Medical Center, purchasing
oxygen units, police safety vests and other needed equipment for the
Bergenfield Police Department, for which she was awarded a Certificate of
Honor and a special police shield, and establishing a fund in her
husband's name for the Tomorrow's Children Fund to assist children and
families in need, among others.
